Dear Listener,
The music from my pre-2018 era represents a time of experimentation and growth. I was learning the craft, trying new sounds, and discovering my voice. Some tracks may have rough mixes, unfinished ideas, or beats that were not officially purchased. Please enjoy this music with the understanding that it exists primarily as a document of my journey. These songs are part of my story, and while they might not reflect the polish of my current work, they are an essential part of how I became the artist I am today. - Nicólas Soul

Nights in Nashville LP
"Nights in Nashville" is a compilation album by Nicólas Soul, released on March 2, 2018. The project grew out of a weekly YouTube series called Soul Saturdays that Nick ran in 2017, where he released a new song every Saturday starting from the end of May through December 31. From this run of 32 tracks, he hand-picked his favorites and the best sonically, uniting them under a single concept: every track was recorded at night in Nashville, Tennessee. The themes of the album span struggles with faith and religion, relationship challenges, and dreams of success, offering listeners an intimate glimpse into Soul’s life and thoughts during these late-night sessions. Designed for a casual night-time listening experience, the album blends soothing lyrics with chilling auras, layered synths, and sonically pleasing textures to create a mood perfect for reflection and relaxation. Production on the compilation features contributions from Young Taylor, I Am K-Beatz, Nor'Ledges, svn x, E-Trou, Robodruma, Taylor King, Court St, Ed Shelley, xgirlslikedrugs, and E. Haynes, shaping the distinct soundscapes that define the album’s night-time atmosphere.

Summer Break EP
2016
apart of the "Seasons" series
“Summer Break” is a vibrant and carefree EP from Nicólas Soul released on July 15, 2016. Created during a period defined by exploration and raw enthusiasm, the project captures Soul at 18 years old, an age where creativity outweighed structure and passion fueled every idea. Originally from Kenya and raised in Nashville, he fell in love with hip hop at eight and began recording at fourteen. By the time Summer Break arrived, he had already released three mixtapes and three EPs which he described as more free and unfocused, moments where he let himself experiment without limits. The EP features production from Taylor King, Flip, Yung Takeoff, and Will Phillips, each helping shape the bright and spontaneous energy that defines the project. Influenced by Kanye West, J. Cole, Drake, and Kendrick Lamar, Soul pushed his craft by studying music intensely. He often said that he listens to music twenty four hours a day even when he sleeps. Ideas struck him anywhere whether at work, in church, or during school tests and that impulsive spark is embedded in every track of Summer Break.

Mayhem
“Mayhem” is the third mixtape by hip hop artist Nicólas Soul, released on February 25, 2016 on Bandcamp and YouTube. Serving as the full project that Before the Mayhem was preparing listeners for, the album dives into Soul’s most personal and cinematic storytelling up to that point. Based on Nick’s life, Mayhem is framed as a reflective narrative set 70 years in the future, where an older Nicólas recounts the trials and tribulations of his childhood to his son. This framing device gives the project a timeless, mythic tone—positioning his early experiences not just as memories, but as lessons passed down through generations. Featuring guest appearances from Cole Giovanni and K. Adams, the album expands the world of Soul’s story while maintaining its emotional intimacy. Production is handled by Nicólas Soul and Adamack, crafting a soundscape that blends nostalgia, tension, and cinematic grit. All writing throughout the album is done by Nicólas Soul, grounding the project fully in his voice and vision.

Before the Mayhem EP
“Before the Mayhem” is a focused, atmospheric EP that serves as the official precursor to the chaos and ambition that would later define Nicólas Soul’s Mayhem project. Released on September 26, 2015, the EP was inspired by the rollout style Travis Scott used with Days Before Rodeo leading into Rodeo—a raw, unfiltered preview of the world to come. Designed as the narrative and sonic lead-in to Mayhem, the EP captures Soul sharpening his voice, refining his themes, and building the tension that would erupt in the following full project. With production spearheaded by Nicólas Soul and supported by Adamack, Before the Mayhem blends introspection with mounting urgency, showing an artist preparing to enter a more cinematic phase of his creativity. Minimalist yet intentional, the EP stands as the quiet breath before the breakout—marking the moment Soul stepped fully into the direction that would shape his next era.

Nicólas Soul EP
“Nicolas Soul EP” marks a transformative moment in the artistic evolution of Nicólas Soul. Released on April 30, 2015—first on Bandcamp and later redistributed on DatPiff—this project represents the official transition from his former moniker LyriCal to Nicólas Soul, signaling a new creative direction and a sharpened sense of identity. Written and fully produced by Nicólas Soul, it is also the first project where he handled every track’s production, establishing the foundation of the sound he would build on in later releases.
A conceptual love story loosely based on the life of Nick Aluoch—more commonly known as Nicólas Soul—the EP uses the seven deadly sins as its emotional spine. Set five years after Nick’s graduation, the narrative follows Nicolas at a moment of internal unraveling. After achieving his lifelong dream of becoming a successful musician, he finds that fame comes with an unexpected cost: the erosion of his sanity. In search of clarity and reconnection with himself, Nicolas returns home to Nashville, hoping to escape the noise of success and rediscover the person he once was. Introspective, symbolic, and emotionally sharp, the Nicolas Soul EP stands as the rebirth of the artist—both in name and in spirit—capturing the moment he stepped fully into the identity the world would come to know.
